On Sunday, July 19th, the Session of GPC unanimously approved our Church Information Form to call an Associate Pastor of Discipleship. This page will be updated by the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC) as they complete their work. A copy of the Church Information Form (job description) can not be attached to this web site until step 6.
In general here are the steps in the process. Striked out text indicates a completed task. Green text indicates current step.
1. Congregation votes at called meeting to approve search for a new Associate Pastor.
2. Associate Pastor Nominating Committe formed from elected members of GPC.
3. APNC completes a Church Information Form (CIF) describing the call.
4. Presbytery Committee on Ministry works with APNC to clarify terms of call and CIF.
5. Session approves CIF.
6. Committee on Ministry from Presbytery approves CIF.
7. APNC posts the CIF on the PCUSA opportunity search connection.
8. APNC begins accepting Personal Information Forms (PIFs) from potential candidates and referrals.
9. APNC narrows pool of candidates and begins phone interviews.
10. APNC visits potential candidates and invites candidates to visit Grace PC.
11. APNC extends call to a candidate.
12. Candidate accepts call from APNC.
13. APNC asks Session to call a congregational meeting to vote on candidate.
